Altitude Awareness

Altitude & Travel Tips

Our celebration will take place in Granby, Colorado at approximately 8,750 feet elevation. Guests traveling from lower elevations may experience altitude-related effects.

Your health and comfort are important to us - please plan accordingly (hydration, rest, and medical guidance if needed).

If it provides peace of mind, we will have many doctors and nurses in attendance.

What to Expect

At ~8,750 feet, some people may notice:

- Shortness of breath with exertion

- Headache or lightheadedness

- Fatigue

- Trouble sleeping the first night

- Mild nausea

* Most symptoms are mild and temporary

Simple Preparation Tips

- Hydrate well starting a few days before travel

- Limit alcohol the first 24–48 hours

- Eat regular meals (carbs help)

- Plan for extra rest on arrival

- Avoid intense activity your first day if possible

Medications & Health Considerations

Guests with heart, lung, or blood pressure conditions may want to consult their healthcare provider before traveling.

Over-the-counter pain relievers can help with mild headaches

Some guests choose to discuss altitude medication with their provider.

When to Take Symptoms Seriously

- If symptoms worsen, don’t improve with rest/hydration, or feel severe, seek medical care

- Let someone know how you’re feeling

As Hosts We Will Provide

- Access to water throughout the event

- Opportunities to sit and rest

- Flexible pacing for the weekend
